Why Keshav Craft Inc's Beds Are Made Differently
A bed frame does more structural work than almost any other piece of furniture in the house — it carries the weight of the mattress plus the daily movement on top of it, night after night, for years. Every bed in this collection is handcrafted at our own workshop in Jodhpur, built from solid timber rather than an engineered core, and priced factory-direct with no middleman markup added on.
That's not just a pricing story — it's a durability one. A solid wood frame holds its joints over decades in a way engineered wood can't, which is exactly where cheaper bed frames tend to fail first: not the surface, but the joints under load. Because we build what we sell, we can also tell you plainly what's standard, what's made to order, and what's actually covered under warranty — instead of a generic listing copied across a dozen near-identical products.
One practical thing worth knowing before you order: these are bed frames only — mattresses are sold separately.
Every Bed Type in This Collection, Explained
Panel & Slat Beds (Without Storage) — The most straightforward option in the range: a solid wood frame with a slatted platform base, so no box spring is needed. The Zorvyn Sheesham Bed and Velmora Slat Bed are built this way — a clean, sturdy frame that suits both traditional and contemporary bedrooms depending on the finish you choose.
Poster Beds — Four vertical posts rise from the corners of the frame, giving the bed real visual presence in the room. The Alzora and Zenvora Sheesham Poster Beds suit larger bedrooms where the frame is meant to anchor the whole space, not just sit in the corner.
Canopy Beds — A step beyond a standard poster bed, with a connecting frame overhead that the four posts support. The Aurelion Canopy Bed is the collection's statement piece — best suited to a larger master bedroom where it can be the room's focal point without feeling cramped.
Hydraulic Storage Beds — The largest category in this collection. A gas-lift mechanism raises the mattress smoothly to reveal a deep storage compartment underneath, without needing to manually lift or remove the mattress. Heritage Chevron, Zerano, Velmora Slat Hydraulic, Zorvyn Hydraulic and Tavion Panel Hydraulic are all built this way — genuinely useful if you need to store bedding, seasonal clothing or luggage without an extra wardrobe. Veltrix pairs the same hydraulic storage base with an upholstered headboard, if you want the storage function with a softer, fabric-finished look.
Sheesham or Mango Wood — Choosing Your Material
This collection is built from two real solid hardwoods: Solid Sheesham Wood and Mango Wood. There's no third wood species in the mix, whatever a finish name might suggest (more on that below).
Solid Sheesham Wood is the denser of the two, naturally more resistant to everyday wear, and carries a warm grain that deepens with age — the more common choice across this collection and generally the safer long-term pick for a frame that needs to hold up to years of daily use.
Mango Wood runs lighter in tone with a smoother, more even grain, suiting a softer, more contemporary bedroom palette. It's still genuine solid hardwood — just a different character than Sheesham, not a lesser one.
What "Provincial Teak Finish" and "Honey Oak Finish" Actually Mean
Worth being upfront about this, since it trips up a lot of furniture buyers: names like Provincial Teak Finish and Honey Oak Finish describe the stain colour, not the wood species. Check the Material and Finish rows separately on any product page — a bed listed as Material: Solid Sheesham Wood, Finish: Provincial Teak Finish is genuine Sheesham, finished in a teak-toned stain to get that warm, reddish-brown look. It isn't teak timber. This is common practice across furniture in general — finish names borrow from familiar wood tones — but it should be stated plainly rather than left for you to assume.
King Size Is Standard — Other Sizes Can Be Made to Order
The beds in this collection are built to King size as standard. If your room needs a different size, several designs in this range — including the Zorvyn Sheesham Bed — are made to order, with dimensions, finish and wood tone customisable to your space. If you need a Queen, Double or a non-standard size, it's worth checking with our team before ordering, since customisation is handled on a per-product basis rather than as an automatic option on every listing.
One thing worth knowing if you do customise: per our Warranty Policy, custom-made furniture isn't covered under the standard 1-Year Warranty unless that's specifically agreed at the time of purchase — so it's worth confirming warranty terms up front if you're requesting a non-standard size or finish.
For sizing your room around a King bed, leave at least 75–90 cm of clearance on each side and at the foot of the bed where possible, so the room doesn't feel boxed in around it.
Delivery, Warranty and Care — What to Expect
Shipping: Free across India. Standard products typically ship in 7–10 business days from our Jodhpur workshop; made-to-order and custom pieces take 15–25 business days. Beds generally arrive fully assembled or in easy-to-assemble sections, depending on access to your home.
Warranty: Standard (non-custom) beds carry a 1-Year Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects. Registration is mandatory — register your product within 15 days of delivery, since coverage isn't automatic. As noted above, custom-made pieces fall outside this warranty unless agreed separately. Full terms are on our Warranty Policy page.
Care: Wipe the frame with a soft, dry cloth regularly, keep it out of direct sunlight to prevent warping, and check that side-rail bolts are snug every so often — solid wood joints are stable, but a little seasonal settling in the first year is normal. Our Care Guide has the full routine.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these beds come with a mattress? No — every bed in this collection is the frame only. Mattresses are sold separately.
What wood are these beds actually made from? Solid Sheesham Wood or Mango Wood. Finish names like "Provincial Teak" or "Honey Oak" describe the stain colour applied to one of these two woods, not a different wood species — check the Material field on each product page to confirm.
What size are these beds? King size is the standard, ready-to-order size across this collection. Other sizes can be requested as a made-to-order customisation on select products — confirm with our team before ordering if you need something other than King.
Is there a warranty? Yes, on standard products — a 1-Year Limited Warranty on manufacturing defects, valid once you register within 15 days of delivery. Custom-made or made-to-order pieces are not covered under this warranty unless agreed at the time of purchase.
How long does delivery take? Standard products ship in 7–10 business days; custom or made-to-order beds take 15–25 business days. Delivery is free across India.
What's the difference between a hydraulic storage bed and a regular storage bed? A hydraulic storage bed uses a gas-lift mechanism so the mattress base lifts smoothly with minimal effort, giving you easy daily access to the storage below. It's the more practical option if you'll be opening the storage often rather than a couple of times a year.
Is assembly included? Beds typically arrive fully assembled or in easy-to-assemble sections depending on access to your home. Most designs are built for straightforward self-installation.
Can I return a bed if I don't like it? Returns are handled per product and are generally limited to manufacturing defects reported shortly after delivery — check the Shipping & Returns details on the specific product page before ordering, since custom and made-to-order pieces are typically non-returnable.
Complete the Bedroom
Pair your bed with a matching bedside table or dresser table in the same wood and finish, so the room reads as one considered space rather than pieces bought separately over time.
